A Star Studded Line Up Helps Make 2nds Count

On the 22nd of November, Edinburgh will come together to raise funds for Make 2nds Count, an invaluable charity created to support those living with Secondary Breast Cancer and raise funds for vital medical research.

The charity has been making waves since its official launch in May of 2018; its founder, Lisa Fleming, diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2017.

She spent that year of her life not only battling a debilitating (and incurable) illness, but putting everything she had into creating the bedrock of a charity that will last for generations. In her spare time, she raised a wonderful son with husband Euan, sent out positive messages of support to other sufferers and took Edinburgh, Scotland and the UK by storm in a bid to raise awareness and funds.

Secondary breast cancer affects both men and women. It happens when cancer present in the breast expands to other parts of the body via your bloodstream of lymphatic system. Alarmingly, 5% of people in the UK are diagnosed at the same time as their initial breast cancer diagnoses. There is no cure.

Having first hand experience of how life altering a diagnoses and subsequent treatment can be, Lisa and her team were shocked to find how desperately funds are needed to stop secondary cancer in its tracks.

The charity's latest fundraiser will see musical theatre royalty in the form of Kerry Ellis and Zoe Tyler perform in A West End Winter Wonderland, held in Edinburgh's St Giles Cathedral. Hosted by Tom Urie, audience members will also be entertained by local youngsters from Stagecoach Theatre Arts School. All proceeds from the evening will go directly to Make 2nds Count.

Your attendance will not only guarantee an amazing evening but will go such a long way to help make those seconds count for secondary cancer sufferers. Please. Buy your tickets now and be part of something life changing.
