Women of the Crown: The Haute Couture Fashion Show Comes to Edinburgh

Jeff Garner’s 19’ collection “Women of the Crown” will launch at Edinburgh Castle on February 7th, 2019 presented by HES, Historic Environment Scotland and Edinburgh Castle. What began 15  years ago in Tennessee, Prophetik has evolved from major catwalks to the red carpet.

Prophetik’s mission  is to enlighten consumers of the harmful effects of synthetic fabrics and petro-chemical dyes in everyday  garments and to provide a beautiful solution and a purposed vision of awareness designing with plant  based textiles and dyes. This season Mr. Garner focused on the beautiful craft lace from MYB Textiles  since 1900 in Ayrshire, Kirkcaldy Linens since 1825 in Kircaldy, Knockando Woollen Mill in Spey Valley  since 1790, and Lochcarron of Scotland since 1892 World’s leading manufacture of Scottish Tartan.

“Women of the Crown” defines a past when young kings had regents and strong Queens ruled countries  and inspired arts. The Renaissance movement was partially created when the focus went to Art not War.  Catherine de Medici, Queen of France, defined court attire and tradition guiding the beautiful gowns of  Renaissance and Elizabean Courts across Europe. Mary Queen of Scots was apart of this influence and  brought the beauty of fabrics to lighten the darken castles in Scotland. This collection influenced by Mary  Queen of Scots along with her counterparts Elizabeth I of England, Mary of Guise & Anne of Denmark.

Romantic visual artist, pioneer, and unconventional southern gentleman designer Jeff Garner and his  sustainable, eco label Prophetik are on a path of transformation, leading the evolution of fashion and  changing our perception of luxury. Mr. Garner was named one of 40 top artists in the US and his works  were placed into the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery for the 40 under 40 Exhibition. Garner’s vivacity and  his commitment to creating distinctive, sustainable, eco-friendly fashion is a reflection of his environment.

Born in the Civil War town of Franklin, TN, and raised on a horse farm, Garner grew his connectedness to nature and a peaceful understanding of the world. Garner has designed red carpet looks for the likes of Giselle Bundchen, Taylor Swift, Cameron Diaz, Rihanna, Miley Cirus, and Sheryl Crow. A few of Garner’s accolades include being named new designer of the year at Paris fashion week, Top 10 gown of Oscar red carpet by Vogue, Designer of the year Vancouver, GQ Men’s designer of the year. etc.
