This week, Jeff Garner and Prophetik, in conjunction with Historic Environment Scotland brought their Scottish-inspired collection to the capital city. Held at Edinburgh Castle, the event showcased the most beautiful gowns and accessories woven with Mary Queen of Scots’ style and a contemporary twist.
Held in the Great Hall, the atmosphere was set by the Cairn Quartet, who performed a blend of modern and classic pieces as the Prophetik models stormed the catwalks – some as young as thirteen but all encapsulating the look of Mary.
The guests included fashion bloggers, industry experts, historians, government officials and more – all in awe of Jeff’s appreciation for our history and culture.
In addition to the main show, guests enjoyed an evening with the local suppliers who all played their part in his creation. They showcased their works – from jewellery, shoes, hair accessories and more. Canapes and cocktails were served as the models mingled with us all, allowing us to see first hand the true craftsmanship of Jeff’s work. Of course, the Prophetik designer himself took time to meet his audience – a flamboyant and fascinating gentleman, he had the room in awe.
The Prophetik collection moves on to London Fashion Week Festival held this weekend where a wider audience will get to witness the true magic of Jeff’s design and vision. There is no better time for Mary Queen of Scots to be celebrated – she would love to have been the focus of attention in such a way and have strutted alongside the girls. I’m sure she was there in spirit.
