Move over feddy distillers – there is a new kid on the block: Sweetdram Escubac
and it is a DREAM!
Consisting of 14 botanicals, including caraway, cardamom, nutmeg and citrus, it is then macerated for 72 hours and slowly distilled on a custom copper pot still before being lightly sweetened with raisins and vanilla, and naturally coloured with saffron for a pale-yellow hue. Sounds delicious right? Although I first tried it in a cocktail, you can pair with ice, tonic and lemon, or switch up the regulars and try an Escubac margarita or martini.
SWEETDRAM is led by founders Andrew McLeod Smith and Daniel Fisher, who strive to create spirits driven by flavour and not trends – hence the mantra ‘drink different’. The firm has recently launched a new distillery in Edinburgh where it plans to produce new, innovative products to go into the market shortly.
