Good news food lovers! Not only is Easter upon us, giving us even more of an excuse to eat ourselves silly, Quay Commons are launching their pasta and wine night!

Starting from Friday 30th March, the venue will be offering a delicious menu of seasonal pasta dishes with complimentary wines. The events promise to be relaxed and friendly, as is the Quay Commons style, but most importantly – affordable.

Owner and chef Dale Mailley said: “When our head baker Dominic hangs up his apron for the day, me and my team of chefs and I will take over the reigns of the bakery, making fresh pasta that we’ll pair with the best ingredients we can source. We want this to be a really accessible option for dinner, so the menu will stay small and fresh. We want people to feel well fed and to enjoy an amazing glass of wine without breaking the bank.”

Dale, who also runs the Gardener’s Cottage with business partner Ed Murray, knows a thing or two about creating seasonal and stunning dishes and the venue really showcases not only a talent for food and drink, but how important heart and soul is when creating a unique experience for guests.

Dale continued: “We really want our pasta menu to be flexible, so we will be experimenting over the opening period. Our day-time menu at Quay Commons has evolved since we opened last summer as we discovered what our customers enjoyed the most. One thing we always guarantee is the high quality of the food we serve. I’m looking forward to creating a lovely little spot for dinner in the heart of Leith.”

For those of you who haven’t met Quay Commons yet, it is nestled in the heart of Leith in Commercial Street, offering an escape from day to day life. They operate 7-days a week as a bakery and cafe, as well as supplying numerous Edinburgh businesses with sourdough bread, cakes and pastries, distributed in their zero-emissions electric van. In addition, they recently were the venue for the fabulous Aelder Elixir blogger event that was simply beautiful.

Whilst the evenings have only just been announced, I expect they will be hugely popular so would recommend booking in advance and kicking the long weekend off in style.
